Jump Rope

The HT High Flyers jump rope is a demonstration and competition jump rope team based at the YMCA in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. We are in our 22nd year as a demonstration team and our 21st year of competition. Jump rope offers a fun activity for children in our community. In addition to being physically active, our coaches stress the importance of good nutrition, and being tobacco and drug-free. Our jumpers also have the opportunity to work together and help each other in all aspects of the sport. They assume responsibility for each other. Their accomplishments include choreographing freestyle routines, timing each other on speed events, leading warm-up and stretching activities, and encouraging each other during events. As coaches, it brings us great joy to see the older jumpers helping younger jumpers without being asked. Our teammates truly want to see every member of the team succeed, and our team continues to grow.
